Advantages of Rubber Pads for Steel Track Excavators

Rubber Pads for excavators are made to fit most triple grouser steel pads and consist of a thick rubber pad bonded to a steel core. Some characteristics of rubber pads are as follows:

• Labor cost savings
• Easy Attaching / Detaching
• Saving in maintenance costs
• Excellent stability on slippery surfaces
• Higher safety when hoisting or digging
• Operating noise reduction

There are a few styles available including, bolt-on, clip-on, or Roadliner pads.  The bolt-on pads work if your steel pads have pre-drilled holes.  The clip-on pads use clips that wrap around the pad and work with most styles of pads.  The Roadliner pads bolt directly to the chain so there is no triple-grouser shoe involved.

Bolt-On Rubber Pad   Bolt on rubber pads on the existing triple-grouser steel pads of your excavator.  If you have pre-drilled holes in your pads, this is the most common option.

Clip-on rubber Pads   Clip on pads are very easy to install and uninstall so are a common option when switching back and forth from steel to rubber.  These fit on most triple-grouser pads.

Roadliner Pads   Roadliner pads bolt directly to the steel chain in place of the triple-grouser steel shoe. This option is common on Komatsu machines.

Rubber pads come in many different widths, from 300mm to 800mm.  If you have triple-grouser steel shoes on your machine, you can easily install rubber pads to make your machine much more versatile.
