Rubber pads for steel tracked excavators are very beneficial in many ways.  Some advantages include:

  1. Less vibration
  2. Minimal damage to work area
  3. Operating noise reduction
  4. More stability on slippery surfaces
  5. Higher safety when hoisting or digging

Excavator Rubber Pads are very easy to install or detach so you can switch back and forth from steel to rubber depending what application you are using.  There are three different styles of rubber pads including:

  • Bolt On Rubber Pads

  • Clip On Rubber Pads

  • Roadliner Rubber Pads

What style do you need?

Bolt On Rubber Pads bolt to the triple grouser steel pads through the pre-drilled holes.  These are a very secure connection but not as easy to take on and off quickly.  This option is very popular if the triple grouser pads have the pre-drilled holes required.

Clip On Rubber Pads are the most common option especially if the triple grouser steel pads have no pre-drilled holes.  This option is very easy to take on and off and to install, simply unbolt one side of the pad, slide onto the triple grouser pad, and bolt the clasp back onto the rubber pad.

Roadliner Pads are standard with many Komatsu excavators and also on some track dump trucks.  This option requires no steel shoe and therefore bolts directly to the chain in place of the steel pad with four bolts in the center of the pad.

Extremely Durable

Many people believe that rubber pads are too weak and not strong enough to withstand hard abuse, but they are the opposite. Rubber Pads are very heavy duty and consist of a hard rubber compound bonded to a steel core. They have heavy duty clasps to lock on the side of the steel pad or bolt through the top.  The weight of an entire rubber pad set actually weighs more than a rubber track with a steel core!  Rubber pads make your machine very universal and able to tackle any job or application.
