If you have a Yanmar Excavator or Yanmar Track Dump truck, you can now find quality aftermarket Yanmar rubber tracks. As there are many different brands of rubber tracks, it is essential that you get a quality product to ensure maximum performance and longevity.
A few things you should look for in quality aftermarket Yanmar rubber tracks:
- OEM Pitch Measurements
- 100% new material (no recycled rubber)
- Continuous Steel Cord
- Exact cleat style
The pitch measurement is the distance from one point in one cleat to the same point in the next. The pitch measurement is very important as that will define how well the track will ride in your sprocket. For example, the Yanmar Vio35 offset track takes a 55.5mm pitch and the Vio30 standard center track uses a 52.5mm pitch. Even though 3mm may not seem like a lot, it will make a big difference on how well the track will ride and how quickly the track and sprockets will wear.
Some aftermarket companies use a recycled rubber mix in their Yanmar rubber tracks. Anything but 100% virgin material will result in premature wear.
The continuous steel cord is the main body of the track. Without a quality cabling system, the track can stretch and separate. Many inferior rubber tracks use a cable system that is bonded together causing a joint in the track. That will always be a weak point where failure can occur. The continuous-steel-cord is a non-jointed belt to prevent separating or stretching.
Even though there may be a few models that take the same size track, the cleat style can be very different. For example, the Cat 304CR and the Yanmar B50 both take a 400x72.5x72 but if you could have derails if an incorrect cleat style is used.
